Cold night today, but as I was out with my daughter, going to the car after a knitting class and a zumba class, we paused for a second to notice how pretty the streets were. Definitely not something that I would have done if I had not made the New Year’s resolution. Not so sure my daughter was as happy about stopping in the weather, however.

Isn’t this cool? I did not want to put in people for the “beauty of the day” when I started this project. But my second son’s jump–right outside my office window–was too much fun to resist. He found his “beauty”–and I am choosing to appreciate it right along with him!

So, I’m only 13 days into my New Year’s resolution to “notice and photograph something of beauty every day.” How hard can it be to do that?! But… it is too good of an idea to just give up. Going to go ahead and just admit a day’s failure–and catch tomorrow’s “beauty of the day”.

Cross country skiing at one of my favorite local ponds here in Brattleboro–actually this one is in the little community of Marlboro: South Pond. It’s remarkably different when people are swimming and boating on it in the summer. Today it felt pristine. So many people cross country ski back here–but even if there are 10 cars on the road, you might not see anyone. Feeling truly blessed.

Cold today, and yet the snow was pretty. I liked how it was coming down, but I am not sure the photo reflects the beauty as well as what I saw in person.

Sky at night… almost forgot to think about the “beauty of the day” today. Glad I thought of it when I did–haven’t noticed the moon for a while! One advantage of getting dark so early still?
